We had three nights at The Pheasant and it was so good we are already planning our next visit. It's a beautiful hotel run by a really friendly team who make you feel at home from the moment you step through the door. We ate dinner there all three nights, and the food was wonderful. The draught real ale is superb. When we were there they had Timothy Taylor Landlord and F&L Equinox (brewed eight miles down the valley) - both were beautifully kept and in great condition. A big attraction for us is that there are no dogs at The Pheasant - not even in the bar, so it was really nice to spend each evening eating and drinking without animals in the same room. The breakfasts are lovely too, with an excellent choice. So if you like a quite escape in a beautiful location, with wonderful food, beer and wine - and no dogs, The Pheasant is perfect.

While staying up the road at the Lakeside Cottage, we booked an evening meal at this great inn and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. We arrived a little after 5:30pm and it was such a lovely pub that we decided to enjoy a relaxing drink at the bar. I’d like to say, at this stage, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All were friendly, welcoming and contributed to make our evening perfect. Now, let’s talk food! The menu is just right with the right amount of choice; with everything being so tempting. Our choices were the cheese soufflé and soup. Wellington and lamb, crème brûlée and cheesecake. The flavours were incredible, with this being one of the most delicious meals we’ve had. Never at any point are you rushed or feel rushed and the right amount of time is left between each course. Full compliments to the chef/chefs. We finished our evening enjoying a final drink back at the bar , choosing a whisky from their extensive selection. We’d like to thank all the staff at this lovely pub for such a wonderful evening and highly recommend you book for a real treat of a meal at very reasonable prices.

I travel all over the UK and this is by far my all time favourite location. The owners and the staff are extremely welcoming, the food is delicious, the rooms and the cottage are spotless. The icing on the cake the location is breathtaking absolutely stunning. It is a perfect location for the main tourist attractions too. It a little gem.

We had a fabulous stay at the Pheasant Inn. We stayed in the Garden Cottage which was just charming, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The log burner made the cottage incredibly cosy. The Pheasant Inn is the most beautiful pub, it's evident how much time and effort the family have put in. It has so much character. We had a lovely meal, and were looked after by Annabel who was fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely return again.

Booked a table here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing, the lamb was so delicious and my partner who was recommended the nut roast said his did not disappoint either, thank you Alfie for the recommendations and for being so welcoming. Kayla was also very warm and welcoming and very much enjoyed our chat. Highly recommend The Pheasant Inn if you are ever passing by or looking to eat local. With such a warm and inviting atmosphere it’s definitely a place to relax and enjoy some great food!

Really comfortable inn, friendly helpful staff. Accommodated us with our dirty bikes, showed us a hosepipe and a place to store them. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. The pub is characterful and the food and beer are good. Service is excellent. Dinner was filling and tasty. Breakfast was also good. Packed lunches are supplied at extra cost.

Cant comment on the rooms as we didn't stay overnight. We came in to eat, after a long walk. Party of 6, 3 adults and 3 children. The Food was lovely, prices appropriate for pubs in similar areas, staff were friendly and accommodating. The place is welcoming, very cute and quaint. The Ox cheeks were to die for ... as well as the steak.
